Karolina Stus ( 1980, Szczecin, Poland) photographer/artist living on the Kapiti Coast, New Zealand . Moved to New Zealand at the end of 2011 and since then called it home.
She has made a name for herself over the last 10 years specializing in creative, ethereal photography.
Karolina has also been known to dabble in other mediums outside photography, using more organic methods such as wood, alternative processing and natural materials.
Karolina grew up without many material things in a country fighting communism regime. That has helped her to create memories that have warmed her over the years. She believes these experiences built the foundation for her soul and the way she looks at the world today.
“I’m in love with everything that is old, odd, or different; I find these things beautiful. I transform them and give them new life” says Karolina.
Karolina’s second passion after photography is wood work. In 2020 she took a year off photography to build her own studio and to learn the craft of carpentry to gain more knowledge in that matter. It definitely was a pivot point in her career as an artist and helped her to connect those two passions together.
